The architectural style of The Edgewater is influenced by the rich history of Northfield while maintaining an honest expression of present building and design practices. Traditional materials including brick, stucco, and stone are complemented by modern details articulated in metal, iron, and glass. The rhythm of the architecture is informed by the brick and masonry tones and storefront bays of Northfield's historic district. The height of The Edgewater responds to both topographical features of the area and the scale of existing cross-river architecture. The building's west facade welcomes residents and guests, and interacts with the new urban streetscape of The Crossing. The building's east side opens to a raised, private terrace, and connects to the new river walk system. The Edgewater includes four stories of residential construction over two stories of underground parking, featuring 55 new condominiums. Floorplans range from one bedroom lofts to top floor penthouses including rooftop mezzanines with panoramic views of the Cannon River and downtown Northfield.
